Two University of Washington Professors Observe Prampram Kpledo festival.

TWO PROFESSORS FROM THE College of Education of the University of Washington, United States of America, on Tuesday May 9, joined the people of Prampram to mark the second phase of the Lalue Kpledo festival. The two Joe Lott, PhD and Tory Brundage, a PhD student, who were visiting Ghana, praised the beauty of the festival and its unique qualities. A Principal Investigator of the Brotherhood Initiative and an associate professor in the College of Education at the University of Washington.
The festival is celebrated to outdoor the rich culture and traditions of the people. Observed on First, Second and Third Tuesdays in the month, it reminds generations about the sacrifices made by the forebears to establish Prampram, a fishing and farming community in of the Ghanaian capital Accra, as a settlement. Prior to the festival, a visit to the ancestral forest is undertaken. The chief priest and other priests and priestesses then take turns to evoke prayer for the town and its people. Speaking to PramCitiTV, the two praised the spiritual significance of the festival and connected it to their own identities.
